The Japan Arrival Card (also called the Disembarkation Card for Foreign Nationals) is a
government-required entry form for travelers arriving in Japan. It replaces the old paper-only
system with the option to complete your details either on paper or digitally through Visit Japan
Web, which also integrates immigration, customs, and quarantine information into one
streamlined process.
All foreign travelers entering Japan—whether for tourism, business, visiting family, or transiting (unless remaining in the airport transit area)—must complete the Japan Arrival Card before immigration clearance.
From experiencing the vibrant culture of Auckland to exploring the natural beauty of Queenstown and beyond, completing the NZTD is a key step in preparing for your journey to New Zealand.

Once submitted, the Japan Arrival Card is processed by Japan’s immigration authorities. Travelers typically receive an official QR code confirming their registration, which can be shown upon arrival.
When accepted, your Arrival Card information is electronically linked to your passport and travel
details within Japan’s border system.
● There is no need to print or present a separate document — simply display your QR
code at immigration.
● If using the paper form, it must be handed to the immigration officer along with your
passport.
● A new Arrival Card (digital or paper) must be completed for every entry into Japan.
If there are problems with your Arrival Card submission — such as missing, inconsistent, or inaccurate information — Japanese immigration officials may ask you to correct or resubmit your details upon arrival. Airlines may also request confirmation of registration before boarding. It is essential that all personal, travel, and accommodation details are entered accurately. Incorrect or incomplete forms may cause delays or, in some cases, denial of entry until the information is corrected.
Our role is to assist travelers in completing the Japan Arrival Card (Visit Japan Web) accurately and on time. The review, confirmation, and approval process are managed solely by the Government of Japan through its immigration authorities.
