The Taiwan Digital Arrival Card (TWAC) system is an official government-run digital registration platform for all travelers entering Taiwan. It streamlines the entry process by combining customs, immigration, and health declarations into one simple online form.
All passengers including tourists, business visitors, and transit travelers must complete the Taiwan Digital Arrival Card online before arrival, as required by Taiwanese immigration authorities.
Useful Information About Traveling to Taiwan:
Digital Arrival Card Required: An approved TWAC is mandatory for all travelers entering Taiwan. Travelers must complete the digital form prior to departure.
Visa-Free Entry: Citizens of certain countries are eligible for visa-free entry. Travelers should verify their eligibility based on nationality.
eVisa and Travel Authorization: Taiwan offers eVisas and electronic travel authorizations to eligible nationalities, generally allowing stays of up to 90 days for tourism or business.
Check Current Policies: Requirements may change based on nationality or public health considerations. Travelers should always verify Taiwan’s current entry policies before traveling.
The official currency of Taiwan is the New Taiwan Dollar (TWD or NT$). The New Taiwan Dollar is used throughout the country for all transactions. While some major foreign currencies, such as US dollars (USD), may occasionally be accepted in tourist areas, it is strongly recommended to use TWD for everyday purchases to ensure smooth transactions and accurate pricing.
The official language of Taiwan is Mandarin Chinese (also known as Standard Chinese or Guoyu).
English is widely understood in major cities, tourist destinations, and business sectors, though proficiency may vary. In addition to Mandarin, several regional languages and dialects are spoken, including Taiwanese Hokkien, Hakka, and indigenous languages, reflecting the island’s rich cultural diversity.
Taiwan has an estimated population of approximately 23 million (2023 estimate). The island is known for its dense urban centers, vibrant cities, and a mix of modern and traditional communities.
Taiwan has a subtropical to tropical climate with distinct seasonal variations:
• Winter (December to February): Mild and cooler, especially in northern regions and mountainous areas.
• Spring (March to May): Warm with occasional rainfall; cherry blossoms bloom in some regions.
• Summer (June to August): Hot and humid, with frequent afternoon showers and typhoons possible.
• Autumn (September to November): Pleasant and dry, considered the best time to visit for outdoor activities.

Once accepted, your TWAC information is securely linked to your passport and travel details within the Taiwanese government system.
While your registration can be verified electronically, it is recommended to keep a digital or printed copy of the barcode or Arrival Card Number for airline check-in and immigration inspection.
A new Digital Arrival Card must be submitted for every entry into Taiwan.
If there are any problems with your Taiwan Digital Arrival Card—such as missing or incorrect information—airline staff or Taiwan immigration authorities may require you to correct or resubmit your form before boarding or upon arrival.
It is important to ensure that all personal, travel, and health information is accurate and complete. Errors or omissions may lead to delays at immigration.
Our role is to assist travelers in completing the Taiwan Digital Arrival Card accurately and on time. The review, approval, and processing of the form are managed solely by the Taiwanese government.
